Gainesville, FL – May 22, 2024 – The Oakmont community came together for the annual Slacker Run, a cherished charity event that supports the Child Advocacy Center. This year’s event, held on May 18, 2024, was a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation and remarkable fundraising achievements.
The Slacker Run, known for its fun and inclusive atmosphere, welcomed 213 participants to run during the event. Combined with the generous $4,250 donation from the Oakmont community, the event’s fundraising efforts raised a grand total of $28,346.59.

The funds raised will directly benefit the Child Advocacy Center, aiding in their mission to support and protect vulnerable children in the region. The center provides critical services, including counseling, advocacy, and support for children and families affected by abuse.
