More than one thousand visitors recently attended the grand opening celebration of Oakmont, Gainesville’s newest master-planned community byICI Homes, held in conjunction with its “Designers on Parade” event May 16-17.
The Designers on Parade gave prospective homebuyers and real estate professionals a chance to meet the home designers responsible for the interior decorating of the model homes in the community, as well as meet its six builders, Arthur Rutenberg Homes; Barry Bullard Homes; Jeffrey M. Wilde; Tommy Waters Custom Homes; Tommy Williams Homes; and ICI Homes.
For each visitor to the model homes who completed a card indicating their vote for the best model design features, the home builders at Oakmont made a $5 donation to the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation, which serves to advocate and fundraise for a state-of-the-art, full service children’s hospital in Gainesville.
From funds raised throughout the weekend, a total donation of $2,500 was made to the Foundation. Ballots were tallied with top honors going to Jeffrey M. Wilde, whose model home aced four of the five categories; interior design by Roxanne Wilde. Arthur Rutenburg came in a close second and took top honors for the best kitchen.
“The Oakmont builders are pleased with the turnout to the grand opening and enjoyed meeting homebuyers as part the Designers on Parade,” said Rosemary Messina, Vice President of Marketing for Oakmont. “The Sebastian Ferrero Foundation is an excellent cause within Gainesville and we are proud to contribute to such a great organization.”
