Oakmont is more than a place to live. It is a community built on connection, generosity, and shared purpose. Those values were on full display through ICI Homes for Hope, a special philanthropic initiative that took place right here in Oakmont and recently earned national recognition at NAHB’s The Nationals 2025.
The ICI Homes for Hope project brought together ICI Homes, local trade partners, and community supporters to build and sell a showcase home with one goal in mind. Giving back in a meaningful way. The effort generated 210,000 dollars in proceeds, all donated to four local charities serving the Greater Gainesville area.
Each organization received 52,500 dollars to support causes that strengthen lives and futures. Beneficiaries included the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at UF Health, Junior Achievement of Alachua County, the Pace Center for Girls Alachua, and the Rex and Brody Foundation. These organizations focus on advancing medical research, preparing students for success, empowering young women, and supporting youth development through sports and community programs.
What made this initiative especially powerful was the collaboration behind it. Trade partners donated time, materials, and expertise to bring the home to life, multiplying its impact far beyond the walls of the home itself. One donation was even presented on what would have been Rex Reinhart’s eighteenth birthday, creating a moment of remembrance and hope that touched everyone involved.
The project recently received a Silver Award in the Building Industry Community Spirit Award category at NAHB’s The Nationals, placing it among the top philanthropic initiatives in the country and advancing it as a finalist for the Gold Award to be announced in February. For Oakmont residents, this recognition reflects the heart of the community and the difference that can be made when people come together with purpose.
